When Apple reveals its iPhone 17 lineup this fall, one model is expected to stand out like never before. Dubbed the iPhone 17 Air or iPhone 17 Slim—though the official name may differ—it is rumored to feature a groundbreaking design and a distinctly unique feel, according to a recent report.
Recent reports consistently suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will be slimmer than any of the current models. According to the South Korean publication Sisa Journal, cited by MacRumors, the phone’s thickness is expected to be 6.25mm.
iPhone 17 Air: The Thinnest Yet
This measurement aligns with claims that the iPhone 17 Air could be 25% thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro. If accurate, it would make the iPhone 17 Air the slimmest iPhone ever created. For comparison, the iPhone 6—widely recognized for its slim profile—was 6.9mm thick.
At 6.25mm, the iPhone 17 Air would be 20% thinner than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus (both 7.8mm) and 25% thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which are 8.25mm thick.
iPhone 17 Air: Pricing Similar to the Plus
The report also touches on pricing, suggesting the iPhone 17 Air will be priced similarly to the iPhone 16 Plus. Interestingly, this fall’s iPhone lineup is not expected to include a Plus model.
